CECIL "CEC" AMMERMAN III, age 83 of Amherst and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, died July 24, 2025. Husband of 43 years to Karen (nee Hils) Ammerman, father of Adrianna Ammerman, Carolyn Evans and John Ammerman, grandfather of Allen Gore, Nyssa Gore and Joshua Ammerman, son of the late Cecil Ammerman II and Eunice Getty and step-son of Robert Getty, brother of Glenn (late Michele) Ammerman and the late David (late Kimune) Getty, brother in law of Linda (nee Hils) Barat. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Cecil was a 1959 graduate of Tonawanda High School and attended both UB and Trocaire College and retired from National Fuel Gas. Cecil was an avid writer and poet. He loved gardening, traveling, camping and music. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 4-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC. 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) City of Tonawanda, where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday July 31, 2025 at 10 AM. Everyone welcome to attend. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Cecil may be made to National Parks Conservation Assn. or to the Buffalo Historical Society.
