Chester Edward Lesniak, Jr.
Died April 13, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born in Meridian, MS to the late Chester E. and Minetta (nee Pigford) Lesniak. Chester was a proud graduate of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH, and was a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He served in the US Army and retired from the US Army Reserves, serving his country for 30 years. Chester spent most of his career as a teacher at several schools in Broward County, FL and at Northwest Middle School in Greensboro, NC. Upon retiring he continued on as a substitute teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Lee Lesniak. He is survived by his wife Diane (nee Tyrrell) Lesniak of Summerfield, NC; one daughter, Leigh Lesniak, her husband (Randall Gyllenhaal) and a grandson, Noah Gyllenhaal, all of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Julie L. Gregory, and her husband (Archie) of Reidsville, NC. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, April 21 at 12:00 Noon at Elmlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Tonawanda, NY (Please assemble inside the Delaware Ave. gate near the Office). In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ or a charity of your choice. Forbis and Dick Funeral Service 1118 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC is assisting the Lesniak family. John O. Roth Funeral Home, 25 Williams St. Tonawanda, NY 14150 is assisting with the service in NY.
