KURTZWORTH, CLAUDIA JEAN

JUNE 4, 1953 - JULY 19, 2025 

 Age 72 of North Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, July 19, 2025. Born and raised in the City of Tonawanda to the late Alvin B. and Dorothy M. (Hy) Kurtzworth. Survived by her brothers Chris (Paul), Michael and Peter (Judy) Kurtzworth and was the sister of the late Ann Englert. Also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends and co-workers. Claudia was a 1971 graduate of Tonawanda High School, involved in many sports and was a star shortstop for the Shamrocks who won the division title! Following high school,  she received the following Degrees: NCCC Liberal Arts, Brockport Health Education Degree, ECCC Alcoholic & Drug Addiction Degree and Elementary Education Certification. Claudia worked as a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor, employed at BryLin (10 yrs) Addiction Medicine Unit, part-time Instructor at NCCC Health Education, Niagara County Health Dept -Health Educator, Host of "Health Scope" TV show for 18 years and Coordinator of Cancer Services-Niagara County-8 years. She retired in 2015. Claudia was a huge Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills fan. She loved the outdoors and kayaking. She also led and enjoyed "Moving and Improving" exercise classes with adults. A very talented guitar, ukulele and banjo player, Claudia formed a group called the "Ukeladies" who entertained at many senior communities. After a feisty battle with brain cancer she died peacefully with her beautiful family of angels around her. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 3-7 PM at JOHN 0. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC,, 25 William St. (between Morgan & William Sts) City of Tonawanda, where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday July 28, 2025 at 11 AM. Everyone welcome to attend.
