(nee Grytten)
Age 84 of the City of Tonawanda, entered into rest on June 5, 2020. Wife of the late City of Tonawanda Police Department Chief of Detectives Captain John J. Jamietes who died in 1991; mother of Lynn Marie Jamietes and Lisa Ann Aikin; beloved grandmother of Andrew John (fiancee Antionette Bashir) and Amanda Lynn (Adam Cech) Aikin; great-grandmother of Layla Skye Aikin, Jocelyn, Ehsan and Zaid; daughter of the late Anton and Magnhild Grytten and sister of Elinor (late Blair) Schrecongost and the late Maryann (late James) Penberthy. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris loved singing in the choir of her church for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A private Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association of WNY or to the SPCA of Erie County.
