Kraft, Ella R. (nee Root)

March 8, 2023, surrounded by family, Ella Kraft has been called home by the good Lord peacefully at the age of 102. Born in Buffalo, NY November 16, 1920 to Raymond Sr. and Mercy (nee Stringham) Root. She grew up in Tonawanda and moved to North Tonawanda during her senior year of high school where she graduated in 1938. Beloved wife of the late Theodore Kraft who passed away in 2018. She is survived by two children Leslie Kraft and Eric Kraft, four grandsons; Jeremy Mixon Sr., Mark Mixon, Peter Mixon and Nathan Kraft,  ten great-grandchildren; Jeremy Jr., Ethan, Matthew, Hannah, Noah, Mikyle, Ashton and Owen Mixon, Owen and Anastasia Kraft. Predeceased by her brother Raymond Root Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ella and her husband were avid square and round dancers for many years. They also enjoyed traveling to national parks and seashores. Ella enjoyed sewing and crafting, participating in local craft shows for many years. She was a member of the Tonawanda United Methodist Church for over 80 years. She retired from the City of North Tonawanda clerk’s office after many years. A Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 3 PM in Tonawanda United Methodist Church, 221 Morgan St., Tonawanda. Everyone is welcome to attend.
