Smyers, Eugene Scott

Age 74 of Groesbeck TX, formerly of the City of Tonawanda. Passed at home, on May 5th 20023, surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness. Survived by his loving wife Donna L. (nee Huer) Smyers, and sons William J. (Jessie) Smyers, Corey R. (Vanessa) Smyers, Christopher R. Smyers, and his brother Thomas (Roberta) Smyers. Grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather to 17, in addition to many loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Eugene was a 1967 graduate of Tonawanda High School. Eugene retired from Niagara Mohawk/ NRG in 2011, where he made many great friends. He was also a long time volunteer firefighter with the Niagara Hose #3 joining on May 5th 1970. In Eugene's later years he became an avid builder of LEGOs and a connoisseur of all things chocolate. The family will receive relatives and friends for a Memorial Service on Tuesday, May 16th 2023 at 6:00 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda.
