Gloria Keller Sharpe passed away on January 15, 2021 at age 94 in Wesley Chapel Florida following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her nieces and nephew Maureen (Ray) Keller Gonzalez, Lisa Keller, Heidi Keller, and Christopher (Karen) Keller. Her grandnieces and nephews Rebecca (Joshua) Gonzalez Winegar, Andrew (J.R. Powers) Gonzalez, Olivia Keller, William Rupert, Benjamin Rupert, Cathryn (Seth) Keller Hubbard, Mary (Peter) Keller Healy. Her many cousins including Ronald Baumgartner, Cindy (Wayne) Goerss Lenhart, Connie (Mike) Goerss White, Leo Meyer, Colleen Meyer, and Daniel (Terry) Meyer, Lori Baumgartner, Jennifer (Gerald) Baumgartner Boguhn, just to name a few.

She is pre-deceased by her husband John (Jack) R. Sharpe, stepson John (Johnny) Sharpe, Mother Margaret Holler Keller, Father Andrew Keller, brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Joan Keller, Brother Frederick (surviving wife Hai) Keller, and grandniece Emily Rupert.

Gloria will be remembered for her love of all animals. She contributed to many animal organizations and always had a biscuit in the glove box incase she encountered a lost dog. She cared and fed many wild animals and would go through 100 pounds of seed and grain per month. At dinner time the deer would come up to her windows and peer inside to get her attention to let her know it was dinner time. She had special night vision cameras set up in her yard so she could stay up and watch the action of the deer, racoons, and other creatures in her yard at night. She even had a flock of whistling ducks that were so well taken care of they established residence in her yard rather than continue migration.

Gloria loved the fall. Every year she would set out on a multi-generational leaf peeping and antiquing car adventure. Once she moved to Florida these adventures involved flying to find the elusive colored leaf. Her last adventure was at age 92 to Ashville N.C. where she experienced beautiful leaves and a baby bear up in the tree eating overripe fruit viewed from the deck of the rental house.

She always dreamed of going to Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. In 2012, she was able to make that journey with her grandnephew Andrew traveling Switzerland by train and seeing the Matterhorn. In Germany that met her grandniece Rebecca and continued to enjoy the sites, even having a beer at the Hofbräuhaus and touring the Neuschwanstein Castle.

On a lighter note, we must take a look at the leap in technology that she experienced during her lifetime. Due to her limited mobility, we set up an Alexa that controlled the lights and TV. She was quite perplexed on how Alexa had all that knowledge and where “she” got it from”. One day she was speaking a command loudly. When I questioned her, she said “well Alexa is like a kid, sometimes you have to yell at her to get her to do what you want”.

A private Prayer Service and burial was held in Elmlawn Cemetery with Gloria's immediate family. Memorial contributions in memory of Gloria may be made to the SPCA of your choice. Condolences may be shared at
