Age 102 of the City of Tonawanda. Wife of the late Chester L. Palmer. Daughter of late Alexander Fred Gillie and Ruth Mai Baldwin. Sister of the late Jim (Sally) Gillie. Mother of Allan (Karin) Palmer, James Palmer and Douglas Palmer. Grandmother of Adam (Emily) Palmer, Cydney (Mitchell) Williams, Chet and Carlee Palmer. Great Grandmother of Owen, Camden, Logan, Charlie and Graham. Born in Buffalo and raised in Akron and Tonawanda, Jean experienced life as a mom and physical education teacher in all four corners of the country—After receiving a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti Michigan and a Master's degree from Columbia University in New York City her journey carried her to Seattle Washington, Los Angeles California, Montevallo Alabama finally returning to Tonawanda in 1965. She loved to travel, was an excellent host and was loved by all who knew her. Having taught in too many schools to mention, she retired from Buffalo State College in the early 90's. A celebration of her life will take place in June following a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo. Memories and condolences may be shared at RothFuneral.com
