Age 87, formerly of Clarksville, NY May 26, 2023. Husband of 65 years to Arlene M. (nee Wiedrick) Hughes, father of Coleen (Dean) Overholt, Carol (late Terry) Sprouse and the late Diana Fruehauf, grandfather of Laura (Joseph), Jonathan, Amanda, Drew (Jamie), Jennifer and the late Linda and 8 great grandchildren, son of the late David and Kitty Hughes and brother of the late Winifred Wolf. Also many nieces and nephews. John was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was also a member of American Legion Post 0873 in Newfane. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday June 11, 2023 from 4-6 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) in the City of Tonawanda, where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 6 PM Sunday following the calling hours. Everyone welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to American Legion Post 0873, 6118 Corwin Ave., Newfane, NY 14108.
