SCHINAMAN, JOSEPH C. November 19, 2023
Age 91 of the City of Tonawanda, peacefully at his residence under the care of Hospice. Husband of 65 years to the late Joan E. (nee Crouch) Schinaman who died in 2022. Father of Joseph (Connie), Jay (Kathy), Thomas and Jon (Tammi) Schinaman, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, son of the late Joseph and Caroline Schinaman, brother of Kathleen (William) Strassburg and the late Marie (late Robert) Strough, Hazel (late Richard) Weyer, Ann (late Don) Herman and James (late JoAnn) Schinaman. Also many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a 1951 graduate of Tonawanda High School and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Niagara Hose Co. and -= Tonawandas' Post 264 American Legion. Joe enjoyed working for Tondisco for over 35 years and had close interactions with his workers and his customers. He constantly worked on projects around his house with his close friends Ralph Selover, William Szortyka and Joseph Miskho "Gramps". He enjoyed taking boat rides with family, John Schrader and friends in his classic Chris Craft boat on the Niagara River. He was blessed by his life-long partner Joan Schinaman. His reply was always the same, "She is a Wonderful Woman". Calling hours will be held on Monday November 27, 2023 from 6-8 PM at JOHN 0. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) in the City of Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 150 Broad St. in Tonawanda on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at 9:30 AM. Everyone welcome to attend. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of WNY. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.ROTHFUNERAL.com.
