Age 89, passed on Thursday November 18, 2021 in his well-loved hometown of Buffalo, NY. Beloved father of Lawrence Jr., Kathleen (Bill Ryan), Maureen, Elizabeth and Matthew (Barbara). Long-time life partner of Patricia Bacon. Beloved grandfather to Emily Sisson (Peter), Brianna Kerr, Sean Sullivan, James Sullivan, Victoria Sullivan and Katerina Sullivan. Loving great-grandfather to Jane Sisson. Fun-loving uncle to McMahon and Sullivan nieces and nephews and deeply admired by Bacon children and grandchildren. Larry is preceded in death by siblings Jerry and Maureen. As a respected member of the Buffalo Fire Department for 27 years, Larry retired as Captain in 1984, after surviving the December 1983 propane blast in downtown Buffalo. Larry enjoyed six years at Promethius book. Larry also refereed high school basketball and football for many years and served as a dedicated volunteer at Roswell Park Cancer Hospital. His friendly face, keen sense of humor and warm kindness put countless patients at ease during their time at Roswell. Larry will be remembered for his love of dogs, bike riding, kayaking and cherished time spent on the front porch with Pat. He will be greatly missed by his large family, many friends and neighbors in his home of Tonawanda. There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, on Monday November 22nd at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 150 Broad St. in Tonawanda. Everyone is welcome to attend.
