Cothard, Peter A. Age 64, of the City of Tonawanda, Sunday, January 12, 2025; beloved father of Pamela Benbiga (Bouabid); Michelle Busick (Christopher), and Amber Cothard (Scott Marzec); grandfather of Sami and Rayan Benbiga; son of the late Donald H. and Elizabeth H. (Adams) Cothard; brother of Kathy Laubenthal, Donald (Candace) Cothard, John Cothard, and Bethann (Doran) Roberts; also survived by many nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children (Paula). Peter left behind many extended family members and dear friends. 

Pete had a remarkable talent for working with his hands, he could fix anything that came his way. His talent wasn’t just limited to simple repairs- he had the vision and skills to build and create a home where cherished memories would be made for his family.

He was an exceptional mechanic, and his garage was his happy space, where he spent countless hours working with his hands. A loyal Ford guy, he loved working on cars and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Pete was known for his thoughtful nature and his appreciation for life’s simple moments. He could often be found sitting on his perch, tossing out a witty one-liner or quietly observing family and friends around him.

Pete was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills. Whether at home or out, he always wore his Bills hat, showing his support for the team. In his younger years, Pete was a dedicated season ticket holder, attending every home game and enjoying the tailgating experience.

 

Pete was proud of his daughters and took great pride in watching them grow and succeed.

 

Peter’s life will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, 73 Adam Street, City of Tonawanda at 11:30 am.  All friends and family are invited to attend.
