DOLNEY, RICHARD J.

October 4, 1957 - August 11, 2025 Age 67of the City of Tonawanda, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home. Born in Barnesboro, PA before being raised in Riverside, NY. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend whose warmth, strength and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Richard dedicated 41 years of hard work and loyalty to General Motors, where he built not just a career but lifelong friendships. Outside of work, he found true joy in the outdoors. An avid outdoorsman and proud owner of a hunting camp, Richard loved spending time in nature, whether it was hunting, sharing stories around the fire or simply enjoying the peace of the woods. He was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan who never missed a game and always held out hope that "this year" would be their year. He was the husband of 42 years to Lori E. (nee Gromada) Dolney, father of Eric (Genevieve), Kevin (Erin) and Karissa (Patrick Hagerty) Dolney, grandfather of Everett and Malin Dolney with one more joyfully expected in December. Son of the late Francis and Evelyn Dolney and brother of Diane (Greg) Wisniewski and Paul Dolney. Also survived by nieces and nephews. His family was his greatest pride and he cherished every moment spent with them. Richard's legacy is one of quiet strength, deep love and unwavering loyalty. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Calling hours will be held on Friday August 15, 2025 from 4-7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) City of Tonawanda, where a Prayer Service will be conducted at 7 PM following the calling hours. Everyone welcome to attend. A private service in Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Richard may be made to the charity of your choice. Everyone is welcome to join-Richard's family at a "Celebration of Life" on Saturday August 16th at 12 Noon at the Eldridge Club, 17 Broad St. in Tonawanda.
