Robert W. Derner

DERNER - Robert W. Age 90 of the City of Tonawanda, March 2, 2023. Husband of 70 years to June A. (nee Swisher) Derner, father of David, Alan and Susan Derner and Patricia (Steve) Oswald, grandfather of Vanessa and Steven Oswald, Emily (Johnny Metzinger) Rua and great grandfather of Julia Metzinger. Robert was a 1950 graduate of Tonawanda High School. He was a former member of Company K, New York National Guard and was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a General Contractor who developed North Tonawanda’s Rose Circle and helped develop Tonawanda’s Wadsworth Court and River Edge Townhouses as well as numerous homes through-out Western New York. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday March 5, 2023 at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, 71 Adam St. in Tonawanda. Please, assemble at the Chapel. A private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be made to the charity of your choice.
