Age 96, a lifelong residence of the City of Tonawanda, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Rose was the wife of the late George N. Harris who died in 2008. She is survived by her children Darrel (Maureen) Harris, Duane (Kathy) Harris, Dawn (Wally) Surman, grandchildren Kelly (Thad) Baxter, Ryan (Rachel) Harris, Kristine (Matt) Goraj, Patrick (Rochelle) Harris and Jessica Surman and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Kay (late spouse Joseph) Hoppel and predeceased by her sisters Ann Stump, Mary Slattery and Jenny Creighton. Rose attended St. Francis of Assisi School  and was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a longtime member of the Pocahonts Club Swiftwater Council 186. She loved gardening, cooking, bowling and making sure her house was the cleanest on the block. Her family will receive relatives and friends Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4-7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St.(between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in the City of Tonawanda, where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 7 PM following the visitation. Everyone is welcome to attend. A Private burial will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
