Ruth O. (Lawton) Maerten

 MAERTEN, RUTH O. "Aunt Ruth" (nee Lawton), age 101 of North Tonawanda, May 22, 2022 at her residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Wife of the late Donald G. Maerten who died in 1989, sister of the late Ray (late Barbara) Lawton, sister in law of Norman (Ann) and Alice Maerten and the late Clarence Maerten, loving aunt of Mary Beth, Jeffrey and Thomas Lawton, Cindy (Phillip) Palmer, Ronald (Lil) Maerten, Sandy (Chris) Scrufari, Carrie (Chris) Hallock, Tom Maerten and James (Sue) Maerten. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a 1939 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and was a lifelong member of Frieden's United Church of Christ. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Luncheon on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 12 Noon at Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, 3747 Lockport Rd., Sanborn, NY 14132. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to Shawnee Vol. Fire Co. or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
