SMOLEN, SUZANNE (nee HARRER) JUNE 25, 2024
Age 85, of the City of Tonawanda. Wife of 32 years to the late Stanley S. Smolen who died in 1992, mother of Scott M. Smolen and Debra A. (Patrick) Canfield, grandmother of Megan (Alex) Fox and Rebecca (Joshua) Collins and great grandmother of Christopher Fox, Ava and Logan Collins, daughter of the late William K. and Doris (nee Diefenbach) Harrer and sister of Joan (late Robert) Beddome and the late Mary Ann Harrer. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Suzanne was a 1956 graduate of Tonawanda High School and received her Masters from Buffalo State Teachers College. She taught Kindergarten at Niagara School in Tonawanda and also taught Preschool at the YWCA in North Tonawanda for 23 years. Suzanne was a long time member of Tonawanda United Methodist Church and the church choir before joining St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she was also a devoted member of the church choir. Suzanne's family welcomes relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday June 29, 2024 from 11 AM until 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 7416 Campbell Blvd. in North Tonawanda, NY 14120 (Wendelville), where a Memorial Service will be conducted at 1 PM following the visitation. Everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in memory of Suzanne may be made to St. Paul's UCC or to Smile Train.
