Thomas David Stryker

STRYKER - Thomas David July 18, 2021, of The Villages, FL, died at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Nancy Jane (Greenwood) of 51 years; devoted father of the late Todd David Stryker and the late Scott Clayton (Melissa Pixley Walter) Stryker; son of the late Benjamin Stryker and the late Onolee (Miller) Stryker; grandfather of Aubrey Elizabeth Stryker; stepbrother of Gloria J. (Czapko) Longo; brother-in-law of Susan Jean Greenwood and Mary Ellen (Greenwood) Kabza. Tom was a 1959 graduate of Tonawanda High School, a graduate of Erie County Community College, and a graduate of Buffalo State College. He received a tennis scholarship to the University of Maryland. Tom served as Councilman and Council President for the City of Tonawanda. In addition, Tom served as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission for 25 years for the City of Tonawanda. He retired as a Major in the Army Reserve. He was a member of Post 347 American Legion, the Eldredge Bicycle Club, and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed reminiscing, tennis, golf, the Buffalo Bills, college basketball, playing cards and Long Beach, Canada. Memorial Visitation will be held at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME in Tonawanda, August 24th, from 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Angola, August 25th, at 10:30 AM followed by burial prayers and interment at Forest Avenue Cemetery, Angola.
