NICHOLAS, Thomas R. Sr. “Nix”
Of Tonawanda, 64, peacefully on April 29, 2022 after a 14-month battle with Multiple Myeloma. Loving husband of 40 years to Diane (née Bush). Devoted dad of TJ (Katie), Lisa Marie (Alex) Geere, Angela (Mike) Tolsma. Proud papa of Sophia McShane, Maxwell Nicholas and Gia Tolsma. Son of the late Angelo and Bernadine (née Shalkowski) Nicholas. Brother of Peggy (Chuck) Annunziato, late Jerry (Mary) Nicholas, late Bob (Nancy) Nicholas, William (Jody) Nicholas, Joe (Michelle) Nicholas and Sue (John) Kowalewski. He will be forever loved by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and countless friends. He retired after 30 years as an autoworker at GM, got bored, and spent many years at Colvin Draperies. Throughout his life, Tom was a very active guy. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was so proud to have thrown three 300s and one 299. He enjoyed many rounds of golf at his favorite course, Ivy Ridge, with his Tuesday group that he loved so much. Tom loved to fish on the St. Regis River and at Black Lake with close friend Jerry Sturtz. He loved to blast music and work out in his garage, go on bike rides, and hang out in his backyard with his dog and best bud Sherman. Tom was the epitome of a soccer dad who loved watching his three kids play. He faithfully supported his beloved Bills and Sabres. Tom was truly a kind and caring man who touched many lives and lived life to the fullest. He loved to tell a good story, enjoy a late-night bowl of ice cream, and make people laugh. Above all else, Tom loved his family. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 3 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, May 4 from 4-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME INC., 25 William St. in Tonawanda.
