Age 95, of the Tonawandas, April 20, 2021 under the care of Hospice. Wife of 71 years to the late Rev. Eldon D. Snyder who died in 2019; mother of Sharon Allen and Paul (Becky) Snyder; grandmother of Brian (Jamie) Snyder, Kiyana (Nicholas) Allen Glass, Julie (Jared) Falkenrath, Nikolas (Sarah) and Benjamin Allen; great-grandmother of Owen, Peighton, Eliza, Kya and Damian; sister of Jane Weber and the late Donald, Douglas, Ethel, Carolyn and Judy and daughter of the late Howard and Mintha Oliver; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virginia was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps during World War II and had been employed at Beechwood Nursing Home as a Registered Nurse, retiring in 1988. Virginia was also very active in local Church Missions through Kenmore United Methodist Church, serving as President of Church Women United of the Tonawandas and President of the New York Conference Womens Society of World Service. She also served as coordinator of Volunteers at Central City Cafe, a Buffalo Food Pantry. Her service and support to others continued until February, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Virginia’s Life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 (Virginia’s birthday) at 2:00 PM in Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Rd., Kenmore, NY 14217. Due to COVID health concerns, a Live Stream service will also be available. Please be mindful that face coverings and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Virginia may be made to Kenmore United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Mission Projects.
