SHAFFER - William J. “Bill”
Age 89, of the City of Tonawanda, May 6, 2022. Husband of 70 years to Lorraine F. (nee Zacharias) Shaffer; father of Linda (Charles) Lewis, Karen (Edward) Mesanovic, Patricia (late Gary) McIntosh, William (Kathleen) Shaffer and the late Richard and Daniel Shaffer and Susan (former husband Thomas) Moody; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; son of the late William and Catherine Shaffer; brother of the late James, Edward, Catherine, Charles and Theodore Shaffer; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill was a Life Member of the National Hose Volunteer Fire Co. and the Tonawanda Exempt Volunteer Firemens Assn. Bill loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday May 14, 2022, at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, 150 Broad St., in Tonawanda. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the National Hose Vol. Fire Co., 44 William St., Tonawanda, NY 14150.
